Description
1856-1956 The London General Omnibus Company was formed. The coloured illustration shows a comparison in size between the trolleybus horse-drawn of 1856 and the New Routemaster of 1956. When the company started its operations, the bus had only twelve passengers inside, six a side, facing each other, with room for ten more on the roof. Power came from two horses compared with the Routemaster`s engine-power of 125-horsepower.
