a wonderful vintage hardback edition entitled The Plays of J. M. Barrie In One Volume , by J. M. Barrie (1860-1937), best known as creator of Peter Pan, Captain Hook and Never Land.
It was published by Hodder and Stoughton, of London, in 1930. This is a massive book and contains the following list of plays: Peter Pan, or the Boy Who Would Not Grow Up, Quality Street, The Admirable Crichton, Alice Sit-By-The-Fire, What Every Woman Knows, A Kiss For Cinderella, Dear Brutus, Mary Rose, Pantaloon, Half an Hour, Seven Women, Old Friends, Rosalind, The Will, The Twelve-Pound Look, The New Word, A Well-Remembered Voice, Barbara’s Wedding, The Old Lady Shows Her Medals, Shall We Join The Ladies? There is an introduction to each Act, followed by each characters lines. The book measures 8.75 inches x 5.75 inches and is over 2 inches thick! The 844 pages are neat and a little faded with age. The binding is very good with no loose or missing pages. The book is a former vintage library book with the usual stamps and stickers to the end papers.
The book has been professionally re-bound by the library with a (vintage) leather spine and solid red cloth boards. The cover is in good condition for its age with minor wear.
