This plaque design is based on the Coalbrookdale Token. This was the first bridge ever made of cast-iron only, with the abutments of stone supported on pillars with mortises and dovetail joints. Whole ribs were cast in open sand, erected with the aid of scaffolding, ropes and chains, and then lowered until the ends met in the centre. A symbol of the Industrial Revolution, a birthplace for ideas and processes for coal-coke, cooking pots, steam boilers, iron railways, art casting, ceramics in tiles and china, it was truly the melting pot in the progress of mankinds history. Mounted in a 268mm Square Antique Type Frame with 150mm round waxed and burnished terracotta plaque centrally mounted in un-glazed frame. This series of plaques are unique products made in Wales. Designs are copyright, date-stamped, patent and manufactured by MRM 1989. Only available while stocks last. Priced per framed plaque. These plaques are very special to me I designed and made them for 25 years.

North Wales is blessed with history. I was fortunate to add my small part to it. Last framed plaque. Last few keyhole remaining un-boxed £25 each. Production ended 10 years ago. Image colour may vary, due to hot waxing and burnishing.
