GLASS LANTERN SLIDE , HMS EMPRESS OF INDIA, (NAME ON SLIDE BORDER IN INK), NICE IMAGE THIS OF ROYAL SOVEREIGN CLASS PRE-DREADNOGHT BATTLESHIP, BUILTAT PEMBROKE DOCK 1891 AS HMS RENOWN. NAME CHANGED AND LAUNCHED AS EMPRESS OF INDIA, ONE OF A CLASS OF FIRST CLASS BATTLESHIPS
SHE WAS SUNK AS A TARGET OFF DEVON IN 1913. Also a steam yacht moored along side.
STANDARD SIZE SLIDE SMALL LOSS OF TAPE MISSING FROM ONE EDGE. Condition VERY GOOD. A rare view of an early battleship, linking the past with sailing ship masts and the iron-clad hulls. Out of date for the WW1 and was then used as target practice and sunk by her own side. No wonder there are no museum ships of this class around today.
WAS £50.00.
